Mechanical and Thermal Design
We have many years of experience in the design and prototyping of enclosures for our converters and motor drives for industrial, automotive, and aerospace applications, using various materials such as plastics, sheet metal, and aluminum.
For mechanical design, we use Ansys™ Mechanical for stress analysis. This allows us to ensure mechanical integrity of the design in all corner cases to meet requirements.
We have in-house expertise in the design and analysis of mechanical stress to ensure the integrity of the system under shock and vibrations requirements.
We have extensive expertise in the design of sealed enclosures including for operation in high-altitude applications and in vacuum, but also for applications under high pressure.
We offer finite element modeling and design of our thermal solutions including both air and fluid cooled heat sinks. Through simulations and modeling, we fine-tune the thermal pathways, optimize the flow of the coolant, minimize pressure drop, and maximize heat transfer.
For thermal design, we offer finite element modeling and analysis of thermal/coolant flow using Ansys™ ICEPAK®. This allows us to arrive at the optimal solution in terms of thermal performance at the lowest possible weight.
We typically utilize Ansys™ ICEPAK® for thermal analysis and CAD software such as SolidWorks™ for generating our mechanical drawings.
